Gas Line Service — common questions
Do I need a permit for gas line work?+
Yes, in Ventura County. Any new gas line, extension, or appliance connection requires a permit and inspection. We handle both.
Can you extend gas for a pool heater or outdoor kitchen?+
Yes. We size the new line, verify capacity on the main, and route it with proper protection and shutoffs.
How do I know if I have a gas leak?+
Rotten egg smell, hissing near a line, dead patches in the yard over a buried line, or a higher-than-normal gas bill. Any of those — leave the house and call the gas company first, then us.
Do you pressure-test gas lines?+
Yes. Every gas job we do gets pressure-tested and documented. That's how you prove tightness to the inspector and your insurance.
Can you convert from propane to natural gas?+
Yes. We handle appliance conversion kits, orifice swaps, and reconfiguring the supply side.
Is CSST (yellow flex line) safe?+
Yes when properly bonded to the grounding system. That bond is often missed on DIY installs — we check and correct it as part of any gas work.
