Drain Cleaning & Rooter FAQ

Drain Cleaning & Rooter — common questions

What's the difference between snaking and hydro-jetting?+

Snaking punches a hole through a clog to restore flow. Hydro-jetting uses high-pressure water to scour the pipe walls clean — better for grease, sludge, and root intrusion.

How much does drain cleaning cost?+

Most single-fixture clogs are a flat rate. Main line and hydro-jet work is quoted after we assess the line, often with a camera.

Will chemical drain cleaner damage my pipes?+

It can — especially on older cast iron and on repeat use. We don't recommend it. A quick professional cleaning is safer and actually solves the problem.

How often should drains be cleaned?+

Kitchen drains: every 1-2 years if you cook a lot. Main sewer line: every 2-3 years, or annually if you have big trees or recurring root issues.

Can you camera-inspect the line?+

Yes. A camera shows exactly what's causing the blockage and where — so you're not paying for guesswork.

Do you guarantee the drain will stay clear?+

We warranty our work. If the line clogs again in the same spot within our warranty window, we come back at no charge.
